Centurion Honda's Dan Cooper took advantage of mixed conditions in the British Supersport race at Oulton Park this afternoon to record his maiden win in the class.
Cooper eventually crossed the line 16 seconds clear of AIM Yamaha's Dennis Hobbs with Gearlink Kawasaki's Ben Wilson rounding out the podium with Dean Hipwell in fourth.
The race was a two-part affair which started dry but the rain came down after just two laps which saw championship contender Hudson Kennaugh crash out, followed by a handful of other riders.
The safety car was deployed and championship leader Billy McConnell managed to crash at Druids before another spill at Hizzy's necessitated the red flags to come out.
The re-start was declared wet but a few riders, including HM Plant Honda's Steve Plater, gambled on using dry tyres in case the track dried out. It wasn't to be as more rain appeared.
TAG Triumph's Paul Young went down at Old Hall on the first lap of the re-start wen he got tangled up with NW200 Yamaha's Dan Linfoot, who has clearly been eating aggressive sandwiches since Brands.
The former 250GP rider then did a number on the field, including passing Plater into Lodge on lap three, and started to disappear but he came unstuck on lap five, crashing at Old Hall.
As the men on dry tyres went backwards, it fell to Hobbs, Raceways Yamaha's Lee Johnston and Cooper to battle it out for the lead until Johnston crashed out.
Cooper then went past Hobbs and disappeared into the distance, crossing the line first and jumping up to second in the championship. McConnell managed to finish the race on his second bike in 10th and hangs on to his championship lead.
