Mar-Train Yamaha's Stuart Easton continued the superlative form we saw at Thruxton, by being the quickest Motorpoint British Supersport bike in the combined free practice sessions at Oulton Park this afternoon.
Heavy rainfall saw the first session this morning turn into a non event, with just a handful of riders baring the tricky conditions. Cup championship leader Jake Dixon ended the session quickest, with Appleyard Macadam's Bjorn Estment being the only rider to get caught out by the slippery track.
After claiming the double last time out at Thurxton, the wee Scotsman showed no dip in form in this afternoon's session, however, topping the time sheets by just 0.069 of a second ahead of the spud-missile Ben Wilson.
Third quickest was Oxford TAG Triumph's Richard Cooper, who ended the free practice session ahead of reigning champion, Glen Richards. The Smiths of Gloucester Triumph rider, missed the first half of the session but obviously was able to overcome the early setup issues to be within a second of the fastest lap.
Northumbrian lad, Graeme Gowland, showed some early pace aboard his Seton Yamaha but slipped down the order to fifth, in front of the Australian duo of Billy McConnell and Jason O'Halloran. The second of the Gearlink Kawasaki riders, Alastair Seeley, primarily used the session for setup purposes, but the championship leader will more than likely be challenging at the front come tomorrow morning's single qualifying session.
RLR Motorsport's Sam Hornsey ended the session in ninth, the quickest of the Suzuki's, with the second being Tyco's Taylor Mackenzie, who rounded out the top ten 1.401 seconds adrift of the pace setter.
