Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki’s Keith Farmer came away from Oulton Park a very frustrated rider. He crashed in the first MCE British Superbike race and thinks that he needs to go back to basics with his chassis setup to get more comfortable.
The Northern Irishman is not happy with the current set-up of his bike, and even though he was helped this weekend by his more experienced team-mate the rider has lost confidence with the Kawasaki and isn't happy.
"At the minute I am not really feeling getting on my bike and being happy. In the second race I didn’t really want to get on the bike to be honest, and when you get on feeling like that your head is not in it. But I will come back stronger for Knockhill, and hopefully with a better bike,” said Farmer, speaking to bikesportnews.com.
“My race weekend was frustrating, I had a big crash Saturday, and in qualifying followed Shakey in every session, and I did learn a lot. But we need to start doing things on our own as we have changed the bike too much, like to what Shakey has. For the next round we will completely do our own thing and change the bike drastically to try and get it to where I want it.
"Once we get the bike the way I want it, my head will be sorted. Last year I rode the Superstock bike as standard, and loved it. So we are going to go back to base settings and start again, and I think I will be a lot happier.”
