Smiths Triumph's Glen Richards was the quickest in this afternoon's Motorpoint British Supersport free practice session, the reigning champion showing form of last year.
This morning's first session was a right off with rain falling at the start of the session and only ten riders setting lap times, the quickest of those being Northern Irishmen Glenn Irwin, on his Mar-Train Yamaha.
Australian, Glenn Richards, set his lap time of 1'39.014 with under two minutes remaining in the final free practice session, with nobody else being able to post a reply to Richards as the red flag was brought out moments later after Luke Mossey crashed on the exit of Old Hall corner.
Mar-Train Yamaha's Stuart Easton ended the session second quickest ahead of Graeme Gowland, who seems to have gelled with his new Appleyard Macadam Yamaha. Gearlink Kawasaki's Ben Wilson was three tenths off of the pace in fourth with Luke Mossey in fifth despite his crash.
Fellow Adelaide man and team-mate to Richards, Billy McConnell, was sixth quickest, bouncing back from his disaster weekend at the Silverstone World Supersport round. Championship leader Alastair Seeley was 0.753 adrift of the pace setter in seventh, ahead of Samsung Honda's Jason O'Halloran.
Rounding out the top ten were the Oxford TAG Triumph duo of Richard Cooper and Scott Smart, with Smart recovering from a fluid leakage at the start of the session to sneak inside of the top ten.
