Oulton BSB: Wilson leads Supersport practice

Gearlink Kawasaki’s Ben Wilson was the quickest in this afternoon’s Motorpoint British Supersport free practice session under very wet conditions.

Wilson managed to battle the torrential rain seen throughout the day at Oulton Park to post a time of 1’51.876. Oxford TAG Triumph’s Christian Iddon was second fastest and 0.4 of a second behind Wilson’s quickest laptime.

Championship leader Jack Kennedy moved to third quickest with his last lap of the session, going ahead of Richard Cooper by 0.052 of a second. Fifth was Seton Yamaha’s Sam Warren after he set the pace in the opening minutes of the session.

Finnish rider Pauli Pekkanen was sixth, a second adrift of the fastest lap, with championship contender Glen Richards only managing seventh. Richards, however, was quickest in this morning’s Free Practice session, when the rain at the Cheshire circuit was far heavier.

South African Philip Atkinson was eighth and quickest of the Cup competitors with fellow Cup riders Luke Jones and Glenn Irwin rounding out the top ten.
