Honda Racing UK team boss Havier Beltran says the signing of Tommy Bridewell is its signal of intent that it is going all out for British Superbike title glory in 2024 after a difficult 2023 season.
The defending champion makes the surprise switch to the factory Honda outfit after a single - albeit title-winning campaign - with the Paul Bird Motorsport Ducati team.
Bringing his long association with Ducati to an end after more than five seasons, Bridewell will head up a three-strong rider line-up at Honda alongside the already confirmed Andrew Irwin and Dean Harrison.
Coming in the wake of a difficult 2023 BSB campaign hampered by a long spell on the sidelines through injury for Irwin, Honda Racing UK boss Beltran says Bridewell bringing the #1 plate to his team is a major coup.
“Tommy is an enormously exciting rider and I am delighted to welcome him to Honda Racing UK. His achievements in the 2023 season showcased his exceptional talent and I firmly believe that his addition to our team will contribute significantly to our pursuit of success.
“I am certainly not alone in saying that I cannot wait to see what he is capable of achieving on our new Fireblade. Our target in 2024 is clear; we are going racing to win and to fight for the title.”
