Paul Bird, owner and eponymous founder of the multiple British Superbike Championship title-winning Paul Bird Motorsport team, has died.
Bird, 56, passed away in hospital after a short illness.
A well-known and respected figure across the spectrum of motorcycle racing, his Paul Bird Motorsport team established itself as the sport's most successful UK-based racing outfit.
Over a period spanning more than two decades, PBM has collected eight BSB riders' titles across Honda, Kawasaki and Ducati machinery, while it also competed with race-winning success in the WorldSBK Championship and raced in the MotoGP World Championship too.
