ROB MAC RACING WRAP UP CADWELL, OULTON TESTS

Rob Mac Racing’s Superbike and Supersport riders contined their hectic pre-season testing schedule with a weekend spent at Oulton Park and Cadwell Park this weekend.

Chris Walker, Michael Rutter and Graeme Gowland all got on extremely well with their new bikes on what are two of themost demanding tracks on the British Superbike calendar, with 600cc star Dan Linfoot enjoying the track time available.
.
"We have had a great weekend, I am getting more familiar with the bike with every lap, and the lads are learning about how the bike works and what we need. Oulton and Cadwell are probably the most tehnically demanding circuits and to get vital feedback at this time of the year is crucial. I am really enjoying developing this amazing machine, said NW200 Coca Cola Zero team member Michael Rutter

Motorpoint Henderson rider Chris Walker added: "The shock factor is calming down! The first few rides on your new bike always take a while to sink in but I am getting used to it. We have had a great weekend – Cadwell was a bit frustrating with the weather tunring wet, but Oulton worked out great, I am getting to understand the bike, my crew chief Chunky and I are building a good relationship and the bike is starting to feel like mine. We move on to Knockhill in a week and will have the next stage chassis and engine, so all it’s going to plan.”

"I'm still waiting to wake up! I can't believe how much fun this is, the weather turned bad at Cadwell but I don't mind the rain, it is more important for me to keep riding what ever the weather and I’m loving it,said Rutter team-mate Graeme Gowland.

“I have only raced Oulton and Cadwell twice so I need to get some miles, mind you they are both different places on a Superbike"

"Both Graham and I are on a steep learning curve and having both Michael and Chris in our pit is great. We are all getting on well and I am really enjoying the track time, Oulton was great and we really got some good miles in ideal conditions. Every time I ride my bike the feeling gets better, roll on Knockhill our next test,” said Supersport man Dan Linfoot

Team boss Rob McElnea said: "Cadwell was a bit frustrating as the weather looked like it might have lasted long enough for us to get a few more miles, nevertheless we have had a great weekend and the new Yamaha R1 has not missed a beat.

“Big thanks to all my team, Oulton Saturday and Cadwell Sunday has been hard work and I would say their batteries are flat. I know they will be full on for our team brew in the morning when we download all the great data we have collated over the weekend. The bike and riders are starting to get tuned in and we are seeing the rewards of all the winter work and our rider choices. We have a great mix of personalities and expereince, our pit is a great place so far this season and it is looking like it can get event better.”

The eam moves on to Knockhill on the 18th where other invited teams will join in. This Friday (March 13) will be the team’s official launch hosted by James Whitham and Niall Mackenzie, all fans are welcome, some lucky fans will get to unveil Rutter's and Walker's 2009 Superbikes. The event takes place at Motorpoint HQ, Derby, 7pm.
