Former Grand Prix and British Superbike star Sean Emmett will finally be allowed home in the next fortnight after learning today this passport will be returned to him by Dubai authorities.
Emmett has been held in the country without charge for the past eight months following the death of wife Abbie. He found out today from the British Embassy that the a case against him had been closed and he will be allowed to fly back to his Surrey home.
"It's been a long time but I can finally come home. I got a call from the British embassy and the case against me is closed, so my passport should come back in the next fortnight," said Emmett, speaking to bikesportnews.com this evening.
"I will be able to get back and see my kids and then think about finding some employment as all my money has been spent here. But the main thing is I can finally get to the airport and leave."
