Silverstone BSB: Byrne ‘happy’ with brand new bike

Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki’s Shane Byrne has been using today’s MCE British Superbike free practice outings to adapt to his new bike. The reigning champ needed a new machine after his was trashed during the crash at Assen involving Samsung Honda’s Alex Lowes.

Byrne really needed the track time and even did a few laps in the rain in the early morning session so he could test out the machine. There are still a few things he needs to work on with his team, but overall is happy with how things have progressed, especially after clocking the second fastest time in the second free practice session at the Silverstone circuit.

“To be honest I really needed to ride this morning as I had a brand new bike and it needed to go around the track so we just did a few laps in the wet because of that. This afternoon was really, really good. We have a couple of things that we need to work on but I am really happy,” said Byrne, speaking to bikesportnews.com at the track.
