Rapido Sport Ducati's Matteo Baiocco found himself at the business end of the second MCE British Superbike timesheets at Silverstone this afternoon, setting the sixth quickest time after making some geometry changes to the Panigale.
Baiocco, who is the factory's test rider, hasn't got the new tank and subframe unit which debuted at Laguna Seca last weekend, but the team have taken the idea to move more weight over the back wheel. And Baiocco also likes the Northampstonshire track.
"We've got an inspired rider following a very positive test with the Ducati team. We haven't got any new, Carlos Fandango flashy parts but we have a new way of setting the geometry of the bike in terms of rider position," said team boss Steve Moore, speaking to bikesportnews.com this evening.
"We have followed suit with what the World Superbike guys have done. We have got some of the development parts to help move the rider back including new positioning of the seat in order to get more weight over the real wheel and not overwhelm the front, which we have found works quite well."
