Bennetts Suzuki’s Tommy Bridewell has re-gained the confidence that has been missing in recent times and is feeling positive going into the opening MCE British Superbike round, after a solid testing session at Silverstone yesterday.
The Devizes rider and his team tried out a new swing-arm at Silverstone, but it did not work as well as they were hoping, but nevertheless Bridewell was pleased that they did test out different parts on the bike.
The Suzuki rider ended the testing session fourteenth quickest on the sheets, and would have liked to have tried to put down faster lap times, but in the end he was satisfied with the sessions and left the circuit with a big smile on his face.
“Things are going good so far, pre-season testing in Spain was very good for us, and we done what we should have and tested lots of stuff and here at Silverstone,” said Bridewell, speaking to bikesportnews.com.
“As much as it would have been nice to attack a little bit harder for lap times we just had a new version of a swing-arm that we had to test. It was not quite the right direction we wanted so it was a bit of a shame in that degree but without testing it we would not have known.
“The main thing is to enjoy it. It is a sigh of relief for me to come back to circuits I lost a lot of confidence in - and to come back and actually enjoy riding a motorbike at circuits where I thought I never would again, is a massive sigh of relief.”
