PBM Kawasaki’s Stuart Easton will attempt to overcome his circuit demons during this MCE British Superbike weekend at the Snetterton 300 circuit, and to put behind him previous crashes and podium misses to get some solid results for his team.
The Hawick rider made his way on to the top step of the podium during the last round at Oulton Park and wants to remain consistent and fight for podiums. He was eighth fastest today, but he is still to get over his “mental block” at the Norfolk track, especially after big crashes in 2005 and 2008.
He wants to improve over the course of the final free practice session and qualifying tomorrow, and consistency and points are the key for the wee Sco on Sunday.
“Overall not too bad today, considering it's my least favourite circuit, it has not been great in recent years. But that is not the way to look at it – it’s just a circuit with corners and tarmac, but for me it is harder here than other circuits,” said Easton, speaking to bikesportnews.com, from the track.
“To be eighth is not great but if I can improve on it I will be happy. 100 percent it has to be a mental block, and it’s just a track. But we are working on it, and we had a reasonable test.
“The times are reasonably close and we are in the mix, and we want to improve. Consistency in this championship will play a big part and that is going to be a big thing – but we will see what happens and take each day as it comes.”
