Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki’s Keith Farmer will not be taking part in today’s MCE British Superbike races at Snetterton, as he has just been declared unfit to race, after crashing in the final free practice session yesterday.
Farmer has a hematoma in his leg after his bike landed on him when he fell at Brundle, and was hoping he would be fit enough to race today. But he is still in a lot of pain and has decided that he will make his come back at Brands Hatch in two weeks time.
“I have been deemed unfit to ride, but even if I was fit I am that sore, but for a simple crash I came out a lot worse than expected,” said Farmer, speaking to bikesportnews.com at the circuit.
“The bike landed on me and I have got a blood clot at the back of my leg so it is going into spasm, and it bleeds for 46 hours, so I just have to wait for it to stop bleeding and then hopefully get it stretched out to get rid of the clot.
“I have never experienced pain like this in all my life but we are going to concentrate on looking forward to Brands. We made a big directional change with the bike, and everything is working perfectly and apart from a stupid crash but I am still smiling so it is all good.
“The physio said I would be sore for a week and I am going to see a specialist on Thursday, and I will do everything that’s possible to be back for Brands.”
