Snetterton BSB: Honda boss hails 'incredible' race weekend

Honda Racing's team manager Havier Beltran has hailed the MCE British Superbike race weekend at the Snetterton 300 circuit as 'incredible', as both of his rider's are now in Showdown contention after podium finishes and a race win.

Australian Jason O'Halloran bagged his debut victory in the premier class in race one, with his team-mate Dan Linfoot finishing second in both races on Sunday.

Both  are now well inside the top six in the overall championship standings, with O'Halloran in third and Linfoot fourth respectively. The Honda team have been developing the eight-year-old Fireblade and the recent test at the track proved beneficial for the crew and riders.

Now Beltran wants his racer's to continue with their good form so that they can remain in with a shout of the Showdown, but knows it wont be easy as the competition is tough in the BSB class.

"It is an incredible finish to Snetterton. A few weeks ago we tested at Snetterton and we found a few bits and pieces that were going to help us. Some of those setting changes and understanding it paid off at Knockhill and here at Snetterton," said the Honda team manager, speaking to bikesportnews.com at the track.

"It has enabled both Dan and Jason to be strong and run at the front where they both believe they can continue to do so. It is great for the Fireblade and it is an eight year old beauty and has fantastic potential still, and down the straights it holds its own and it is an incredible feat for us and the team and Honda.

"Third and fourth in the Showdown is fantastic, we said to both of them we have to turn a corner and chasing those podiums, and if we are chasing those podiums we are getting those credit points and if we are getting podium's we are moving up the leader board. If we are unable to manage that we will drop out of the top six and it is going to get tougher and a lot harder in the next two or three rounds and the competition is very, very strong."
