KRP/Bradley Smith Racing’s Paul Jordan held off his team mates to take the win at the Norfolk circuit of Snetterton in the Relentless British 125GP Championship this weekend.
The KRP team dominated the race and across the finish line took the top five positions with their sixth rider rounding off the top ten in tenth. Jordan held off James Lodge of KRP/Earnshaws Motorcycles and Tim Hastings also of KRP/Bradley Smith Racing. Tom Hayward of KRP/Daniel Weston Racing defended his position from championship leader Martin Glossop on the KRP/Bradley Smith Racing.
It was Hastings who took the lead into the first corner, followed by Lodge and at that time Connor Behan of SP125/Express Forklifts broke up the KRP pack. After a race error Behan fell down the order losing a few places which he soon made up to be back in fourth place.
It was a leading group of five until lap five when Behan lost the rear at Sears crashing out of the race. He continued then to entertain the spectators with frustratingly kicking his bike before picking it up to throw it back down again.
As the race continued Jordan and Lodge pulled away for a couple of laps to have a battle of their own and it was down to technical game play using the slip stream and a variety of lines to gain any opportunity to get ahead. It was Jordan who had the last say.
Hastings not only took the third place overall, but also first in the cup championship with Peter Sutherland of Kinpac Racing taking second after finishing eighth and Adam Blacklock of Repli-Cast Uk who had a stunning ride from qualifying 26th on the grid to finish ninth overall taking the third cup trophy of the day.
Brian Clark of Banks Racing/Express Racewear and Rob Guiver of SP125/RG Racing both managed to improve a place on their qualifying positions finishing sixth and seventh continuing to score what may be vital points to the final standings.
