Appleyard/ Macadam British Supersport rider Deane Brown went down on the entry to Club Chicane in this afternoon’s Motorpoint British Supersport free practice session. Due to the incident the red flag was brought out and a lengthy delay followed.

He collided with teammate Kev Coghlan on the entry to the last corner. “I was on a fairly quick in lap”, said Coghlan, “and I looked behind, saw two or three riders with Deane being one of them so I moved off of the racing line and rolled off the throttle. I expected them to go past and then a second later I got whack from behind. I looked behind and saw Deane sliding along the track.

He has been taken to Southampton Hospital for a scan on his back after feeling pain in his lower back, his right flank and upper right leg.
