Airwaves Yamaha's Leon Camier reckons he is disappointed with his British Superbike pole time at Thruxton this afternoon as he failed to beat the lap he set in the third free practice.
Camier broke the lap record this morning with a 1'14.678 and remains the only rider to slip under the 1'14s barrier but could only muster a 1'14.913 in qualifying. It was the Kent rider's third pole position on the bounce.
"I'm actually a bit disappointed with my pole time today. It's slower than my lap from this morning which is frustrating. We went for a softer tyre for the final run expecting to go quicker," said Camier.
"But the wind picked up and it didn't work out. It would be good to get a decent start to a race for a change, but I'm sure I'll have a battle on my hands as usual! I live nearby in Wimborne for most of the year so Thruxton is like a home race for me."
