Linxcel-Seton Tuning’s Nick Clark is thrilled with his opportunity to join the team allowing him to be competitive in the Metzeler National Superstock 600 series.
Clark had been buying parts off the team’s manager Phil Seton throughout the 2008 season before Clark questioned him about how to obtain a ride. Seton studied his results and took into consideration the un-competitive bike Clark had, he then became part of the team.
Talking about his season so far he said: “Yes it has been good, bit up and down. At the start of the year I was fastest all weekend at Brands, made a couple of mistakes then I was involved in accident, which people thought was my fault.”
“Initially it looked like I t-boned another rider, but it wasn’t like that at all. It was a case of the rider in front of him shut off, so then the rider in front of me had to shut off and I then I had no where to go. I have spoken to the rider since and we are all ok about it.”
“At Oulton I really wanted to get up there at the front, I was on my own last year, no team and I was in the top 15. I really pushed and got onto the podium, that was just great. Donington has been my toughest so far, I was not comfortable with setup. I started really well I then crashed, but made it back to 16th.”
The competitiveness in this class never ceases to amaze the entertained spectators, Clark has qualified 21st for Sunday’s race, but a mere half a second less would have put in 10th place.
Regarding his new team and extra support Clark said: “This is like nothing else and to have Kennaugh as a team mate is cool. It is great to come in and Phil [Seton] has great knowledge and he knows what to change and move in a positive direction. The team work really hard and the bike is the best I have ever ridden.”
“I have already picked up my riding and it’s a frantic, frantic grid, there are so many fast guys out there. I need more consistency though, I am aiming for a top six this weekend and I have had a taste of the champagne and I want more, to spray at people.”
