THRUXTON BSB: HILL SAYS TEAM STRONGER THAN EVER

Taboo motorsport’s Michael Hill moved up to joint 12th in the championship standings after finishing 12th in the race starting from 16th on the grid at Thruxton for the fourth round of the Relentless British 125GP Championship.
Talking about his season Hill said: “I am really happy, it took me time to get over my crash, but over the winter I trained really hard as well.  We are also the only team to run a full FRS kit, but we get support from Japan and Banks Racing.  I’ve been in a few incidents, at Brands I had a coming together with Corey Lewis.”
“At Oulton I had another coming together, but Donington went really well in qualifying and then I got my best career results in the race finising sixth.  We are much more competitive, we had the new kit at Brands, also we’ve got a good system here and atmosphere in the team.  We take it seriously but we chill out at night, which I think is important.”
Taboo at the end of 2008 expanded to take another young rider under its wing, after a couple of rider changes it is Tom Weeden who rides for the Taboo junior team in the Cup championship this year.
Hill said: “We are quite lucky with Tom, he has gradually got better and better.  We are not a massive team with a massive budget, but Tom’s like me and he can certainly race.”
Hill’s fastest lap time in the race was just over two and half seconds off his first practice time he set on Saturday, each session on track the London based rider improves.  In three weeks he returns to the Norfolk circuit of Snetterton and is on route to thrashing last season’s result.
