Returning Motorpoint British Supersport contender Scott Smart reckons his team have made big steps forward with chassis setup on the Oxford TAG Triumph and he is now eyeing the podium.
The former Grand Prix rider got in little pre-season testing and has been playing catch-up to the likes of former team-mate Glen Richards but says he now has time to make more progress before the Oulton Park round.
“We've made a massive improvement in the few days since Brands Hatch and we've been on the tail end of the leading group here. The biggest steps have been in the chassis set-up and having that confidence in the bike is so important around a track like Thruxton," said the Kent man.
"We've now got a few weekends off before Oulton and if we can find continue to change a few things and find another few tenths then we should be getting closer to the podium, with more to come throughout the season."
