Ellesmere Port's Jenny Tinmouth made history at the Snetterton MCE British Superbike round by becoming the first woman to score points in the premier class.
Tinmouth, who is still the fastest lady around the Isle of Man TT, picked up a point for finishing 15th in the second outing in Norfolk on Saunday and is rightly pleased about it.
"I was so chuffed to score my first point in the Championship and it really was a big achievement for me, the team and all our sponsors. We made some big improvements with the bike over the weekend as Ryan Saxelby helped me out too and also we had a few tips on some changes to the suspension and it made a big difference. It felt like a different bike and the entry, cornering and exit feel was so much better. It definitely felt the best it has been since we started in Superbike," she said.
"I was disappointed to have had the crash in the first race as I had felt we had made big improvements over the weekend so in the second one I was really determined to try and not make any mistakes and try to get a point for our little team. To achieve that was fantastic and a big achievement as we are the ultimate privateer team in the Championship and I am so proud of what we have done. Brands Hatch is next and that is one of my favourite tracks as I love the Grand Prix circuit. We are just going to keep pushing and see if we can now make this a regular occurrence because last weekend meant the world to me."
