Former ThundersportGB youngster Tom Weeden will race under the Taboo Motorsport banner in this year's Relentless British 125GP Championship, partnering team boss Michael Hill.
Weeden, who was third in the TSport GP3 series, will compete in both the Championship and Cup classes, and may be joined by another rider later in the season.
"I feel I am with the right team, at the right time, with great prospects," said 14-year-old Weeden. "Moving up to BSB from club racing is a big step but I believe I can achieve a top-five finish in the Academy Cup, and hopefully a top 15 position in the main championship.
"It will be a hard year, with highs and lows, but with Taboo’s help and Michael’s support it’s going to be a brilliant season.”
Taboo team boss Hill said: "Over the previous few seasons we have worked hard to develop a strong team presence within the BSB paddock. In addition to the main team we will also run a Taboo Motorsport Junior Team which will run in the Academy Cup as well as the main British Championship series.
"The aim of the junior team is to allow young upcoming riders to compete at the highest level benefiting from our experience both on and off the circuit. The ultimate goal for me is to help create a future champion.”
The team will take to the track for several pre-season tests where their new colours and rider logos will be revealed in February and March ahead of the opening round of the British Championship which takes place at Brands Hatch on April 10th – 13th.
