Dan Linfoot put in a champions ride at Brands Hatch on Sunday afternoon to not only take his ninth win of the season in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship but with it the 2023 title.

The former BSB race winner only needed four points to clinch the crown but, after a steady start from ninth on the grid, worked his way to the front and after taking the lead on lap six of 14, he never looked back.

Continuing with the form shown all season on the Optimum Bikes Racing Honda, Linfoot quickly opened a lead over the rest of the field and eventually went on to take a commanding 3.4s win over season-long rival Richard Kerr (AMD Motorsport Honda).

Kerr wasn’t quite able to match the pace of his more experienced rival but took second from Joe Talbot (JR Performance Racing Honda) at Druids on lap 11 and took his ninth podium of the season, ending the season 36 points adrift of Linfoot. For the second year running, he was also the only rider to score points in every race.

Talbot completed his strong end to the year in third just ahead of Alastair Seeley (Synetqiq BMW) although the positions were reversed in the final championship standings with former champion Seeley edging out Talbot by 15 points.

Saturday’s race winner Billy McConnell took fifth in the race and in the championship on the C&L Fairburn Properties/Jackson Racing Honda with Luke Hedger taking sixth in the race on the MAD Racing Kawasaki.

Lewis Rollo (IN Competition Aprilia), Ben Luxton (Luxton Racing Honda), Nathan Harrison (Quayside Racing Honda) and James Hillier (LAMI OMG Racing Yamaha) completed the top ten in Sunday’s final race with Rollo taking sixth overall in the championship.
