Dan Linfoot’s bid for this year’s Pirelli National Superstock Championship continued at pace at Snetterton on Sunday with the Optimum Bikes Honda rider taking his fourth win in seven races to extend his lead over Richard Kerr to 21 points.

Having claimed pole position, Linfoot took the lead from Alastair Seeley (Synetoq BMW) on the second lap only for former champion Seeley to immediately respond and it soon became a six-rider battle for the lead with Kerr (AMD Motorsport Honda), Alex Olsen (Cumins by Team IWR Honda), Billy McConnell (C&L Fairburn Properties/Jackson Racing Honda) and Joe Talbot (JR Performance Racing Honda) also in the mix.

Linfoot reclaimed the lead on the fifth lap with the order behind Seeley, Olsen, Kerr, McConnell and Talbot as just one second covered the top six. Olsen soon moved up to second and as he and Linfoot edged away, Seeley dropped back to sixth after running onto the grass when Kerr squeezed by.

Aided by the fastest lap of the race, Olsen closed in on Linfoot, but the former BSB race winner upped the pace in the closing stages and took his third consecutive victory by 1.4s, Olsen taking his fourth podium of the season in second.

The battle for third went the way of McConnell, his first rostrum appearance since the opening round at Silverstone, after he overhauled Kerr with three laps to go with Talbot and Seeley completing the top six. Brayden Elliott, Linfoot’s team-mate Brent Harran, Luke Hedger and Lewis Rollo rounded out the top ten, the latter coming through from the back row of the grid
