Donington Park is the only circuit which features on both the BSB and WorldSBK calendars. PTR Triumph is set to take advantage of that this weekend, with wildcard appearances for both its WorldSSP riders in the British Supersport Championship races at this weekend’s Donington BSB.

It means that both Tom Booth-Amos - who was full-time in BSSP last year with the Gearlink Kawasaki team - and Ondrej Vostatek will compete in the British Supersport Championship as wildcard riders this weekend at Donington Park.

Booth-Amos, whose career is rooted in British Championship racing, already has significant experience of Donington, but for Vostatek this will be his first time at the Leicestershire track. For both riders, though, it will be a chance to get acquainted with the Donington Park layout on the Triumph Street Triple 765 RS ahead of the WorldSBK UK Round that will take place at the same venue on 12-14 July.

Ahead of his one-off return to British Supersport, Tom Booth-Amos told Britishsuperbike.com: “Back to BSB this week at Donington Park and I’m looking forward to getting out on the PTR Triumph and getting some important information ahead of the WorldSSP race in a few weeks.”

Andrej Vostatek added that “I don’t really know what to expect, but we are going to try some new things on the bike. I have been working really hard to improve my physical ability and I think I am moving forward. I am really excited about this weekend; I want to focus on the track and the setting of the bike.”

PTR Triumph Team Manager Simon Buckmaster said: “We are really looking forward to our wild card entry to the British Supersport Championship at Donington Park this weekend. It’s a great series and it will be a fantastic opportunity for us to do some proper race testing for when we go back there for the [World Championship] round. Tom and Ondrej are really looking forward to it. I’d like to thank Stuart Higgs for giving us the chance to come and be part of the series and we hope to see a lot of fans there.”
