2026 MotoGP Catalan Grand Prix Results, Sunday: Race

Gold and Goose

Final results from the 2026 MotoGP Catalan Grand Prix, the sixth round of the 2026 season.

Fabio Di Giannantonio won the Catalan MotoGP race, the second win of his career.

The race was red flagged twice, first for an incident involving multiple riders but primarily Pedro Acosta and Alex Marquez. As Acosta exited turn nine, his bike cut out, he stopped accelerating, and Marquez hit the back of the KTM. Marquez crashed to the right, his bike tumbling down the straight to turn 10 along the grass. His bike tore itself to pieces as it barreled along, the front wheel detaching and hitting Fabio Di Giannantonio, who also crashed. Raul Fernande was also hit by debris.

All riders were able to take the restart, bar Marquez, who was taken to hospital, and Enea Bastianini who had retired earlier.

The restart lasted only the length from the start to the first turn, as Johann Zarco made contact with Luca Marini; as they fell they took out Francesco Bagnaia. Zarco didn't take the second restart, but the other two did.

It was Acosta who led at the start of the third attempt of running the race and he led for the majority, only being passed by Di Giannantonio with three laps to go.

Acosta continued falling, being passed by Joan Mir and Fermin Aldeguer. Ai Ogura then tried to pass hi for fourth at the final corner on the last lap, but he misjudged it and took Acosta out. Ogura crossed the line fourth but was given a three-second penalty after the race so dropped to ninth.

That penalty didn't affect the podium, of course, but it promoted Francesco Bagnaia to fourth and, more importantly for the championship, Marco Bezzecchi to fifth. Bezzecchi had been down in 13th on the initial start before the red flag, but with Jorge Martin having been taken out by Raul Fernandez early in the final start the top-five means an 11-point extension of Bezzecchi's points lead.

Fabio Quartararo was then sixth, ahead of Luca Marini, Brad Binder, Ai Ogura, and Diogo Moreira who completed the top-10.
