Britain's Jake Dixon looks set for a second crack at MotoGP after Moto2 team-mate Xavi Vierge turned down the chance to ride at Aragon.
The Petronas rider finished his debut ride at Silverstone despite some serious tyre issues and is likely to ride the B-spec Yamaha M1 at the Alcaniz track next weekend.
Vierge opted out of the seat after it was again demonstrated that only Fabio Quartararo is competitive on the M1 and it would do nothing for his career as he has no chance of a full-time ride on it.
Race-winner Quartararo aside, Yamahas occupied the last three places on the result sheet at Silverstone - not great for a manufacturer that has taken seven MotoGP-era victories at the Towcester track.
Yamaha's line-up will therefore stay the same for Aragon before Franco Morbidelli takes Cal Crutchlow's place in the works team at Misano and Andrea Dovizioso replaces Dixon for the same event.
