Andrea Dovizioso has yet to decide whether he will use the frame from Ducati's lab bike or stick to the existing one at Assen after doing at back-to-back test yesterday in Spain.
The Italian doesn't believe the new frame is much better than the current and certainly isn't the huge leap forward he and team-mate Nicky Hayden need in order to become competitive over a race distance.
"We make a back-to-back test, with the same setup and with the new tyres. The new chassis is a little bit better on corner entry, in the last part in braking, but when we are almost upright, we have a little bit more movement but is very similar as we expected," said Dovizioso, speaking at Catalunya.
"We have to make a decision on which bike we will be at Assen. We have to wait on new material, I don't know when it will be ready during the season. It's not a big problem to me. There are positives and negatives. Unfortunately, it doesn't solve our big problems and we go into Assen in the same situation we were here.
"It is a different track and maybe the colder temperature can help us a little bit. We still have the same problems. Rear pumping, turning, some big, some small. If you put all of them together, at the end of a lap it is minimum one second."
