Estoril has finally got the go ahead to host May 6 MotoGP round after fears that Portugal was so debt-ravaged, the track would not be able to find the sanctioning fee this year.
The FIM announced yesterday the race would be going ahead but the future of the fixture is far from certain as the country is heading down the same hole as Greece.
It is also one of the older circuits in the grand scheme of things and, in terms of facilities and infrastructure, is now seriously lagging behind new tracks that are being added to the MotoGP calendar.
