Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team rider, Fabio di Giannantonio, returned to action at the Thai Grand Prix.
On his return to MotoGP, Fabio di Giannantonio secured a top ten finish at the Thai Grand Prix.
The Italian missed the end of the 2024 season after undergoing shoulder surgery, and only completed one day of testing after fracturing his collarbone at the Sepang Test.
"I am proud of the team and proud of myself," di Giannantonio said after finishing 10th in Thailand.
"We have really achieved something very big. Coming to a MotoGP race without knowing the bike and without any kind of test and training for the shoulder is fantastic.
"My upper half of my body has a training level of zero. I haven't done a push-up for six months, since the first injury in Austria I haven't been able to do that."
A tenth place finish at the Chang International Circuit showed that di Giannantonio and his GP25 have 'potential' for the remainder of the 2025 season.
"The external conditions were really hell this weekend. We almost burned out on the track," he stated.
"We really did a great job. The bike had really great potential and even with the starting position, far behind the top guys. Unfortunately, my body prevented us from a unique performance.
"We can be proud and happy because we were fast, finished the race in the top 10 and showed good overtaking maneuvers. Compared to Saturday, we found some solutions to the heat and, above all, we never gave up."
The Argentine Grand Prix does not begin until the 14th of March, giving di Giannantonio 12 days to rest and train ahead of Round Two of the season.
"Now I'm flying home, which I want to use to recover from this race," he said.
"From Wednesday onwards I plan to train and strengthen my shoulder a bit," he stressed. "When the pain stops, I can train more and then I have ten days until Friday in Argentina.
"I can really achieve something in those days and I'm sure that I can be better in Argentina. At 100 percent and without pain, I will perhaps be in Qatar. I want to be completely fit then."
