Jorge Martin has gone back on his decision to leave Aprilia Racing and will remain with the Italian manufacturer for 2026.

Ahead of the Czech Republic Grand Prix, it was announced by Jorge Martin that he will remain with Aprilia Racing for the 2026 MotoGP World Championship.

It has been a difficult few months for Martin as he has been dealing with broken ribs since the Qatar Grand Prix, but this weekend he will return to racing for the first time since April.

"I am really happy to be here again," Martin said in an exceptional press conference on Thursday.

"It has been a really difficult few months for me, well, not a few months, more like six or seven months. I have been suffering a lot from injuries.

"But I am happy to be here, and happy to be back on my MotoGP bike.

"Also, I am happy to say that I will be continuing with Aprilia for 2026."

Since we last saw Martin, he announced his departure from Aprilia, a decision that he has now decided to go back on.

Martin was given an opportunity in his press conference to address the rumours and tell his side of the story.

During his explanation, the reigning MotoGP World Champion revealed that he thought leaving Aprilia was the 'best decision for me'.

But has decided to stop fighting with Aprilia and has decided to see out his initial deal with the Italian manufacturer.

"I want to explain everything that has happened, because it will be easier," he explained.

"I think after my first, second and then third injury, everyone became more serious, and I had a lot of doubts.

"Not only around my future, but about myself, about a lot of different things. In that moment, I had to make a decision, that decision was to try with Aprilia for a few more races or activate this clause, which we all knew about.

"Aprilia denied it, which I respect; they were fighting for their rights. From that point, I had to fight for what I thought was best for me, which was to move on to another project.

"I could continue this fight further, but in life we have to make some decisions, and this decision is to stay here for one more season."
