Jake Dixon settled for seventh during a 'difficult' Thai Grand Prix

The Thai Grand Prix was a 'solid' debut for Jake Dixon in the Elf Marc VDS Racing Team.

During the opening Grand Prix of the 2025 Moto2 season, Jake Dixon crossed the line in seventh after a difficult 22-lap race.

The British rider qualified for the season opener in sixth and believed he had 'consistent race pace'. However, on his debut with the Elf Marc VDS Racing Team he opted to take seventh instead of risking a push for the top five.

The Thai Grand Prix was also Dixon's first outing on the Boscoscuro chassis after previously using a Kalex throughout his time in the Grand Prix paddock. Despite the change of teams and chassis, the 29-year-old is confident within his new surroundings.

"A difficult race due to the hot conditions," Dixon said after the Thai Grand Prix.

"But we said between fifth and eighth was our aim and I’m really happy to finish the race on a positive. We’re not quite where we need to be but fifth was just in front of me for most of the race.

"The risk wasn’t worth it so I took seventh today which was a good thing when I was struggling physically in the final laps.

"It’s a solid start, we scored some good points and I’m confident we’ll only get better from here. Now I’m looking forward to moving on to Argentina where we’ll keep building."
