The 2020 MotoGP World Champion will attempt to race on Sunday, but will miss Qualifying and the Sprint Race.

A statement from Honda HRC Castrol on social media said:

"After his fall yesterday, Joan Mir continued to experience significant discomfort and limited mobility in his neck.

"Mir has been declared fit. He and Honda HRC have elected to miss today's running to focus on Sunday."

At the end of Friday Practice, Mir secured himself a spot in Q2, so he will start the Grand Prix from 12th place on the grid if he attempts to race on Sunday.

The main goal for the factory Honda rider will be to recover for the midseason test on Monday at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
