Jorge Martin will miss the Malaysian Grand Prix

Jorge Martin's injury woes continue as the 2024 MotoGP World Champion has been sidelined for the Malaysian Grand Prix.

On Friday at the Australian Grand Prix, Aprilia Racing confirmed that Jorge Martin will also miss next weekend's Malaysian Grand Prix.

The Spaniard crashed during the Sprint Race at the Japanese Grand Prix, in an incident that saw him take out his Aprilia Racing teammate, Marco Bezzecchi. During the collision, Martin suffered a displaced fracture to his right collarbone.

Although the Spaniard underwent a 'complex procedure' on the fracture and has spent time recovering at the Red Bull Athlete Performance Centre in Austria, he is not yet ready to return to racing.

Martin missed the Indonesian Grand Prix two weeks ago and had already been confirmed to miss this weekend's Australian Grand Prix, where he is being replaced by Aprilia Racing Test Rider, Lorenzo Savadori.

However, Savadori will most likely have to step in for Martin once again in a week at the Sepang International Circuit for the Malaysian Grand Prix.

The earliest chance that the 2024 MotoGP World Champion will be back in action is at the Portuguese Grand Prix at Portimao in November.

Now it has been confirmed that he will sit out the Malaysian Grand Prix. Martin will have missed 13 full race weekends due to the several injuries that he has suffered throughout what has been a terrible 2025 MotoGP season for the 2024 Champion.

The last two MotoGP World Champions will remain on the sidelines at the Malaysian Grand Prix as Martin and Marc Marquez are recovering from injuries sustained at the last two race weekends.
