David Almansa set a new Moto3 Lap Record on Friday afternoon at Phillip Island for the Leopard Racing squad.
On Friday afternoon, the Moto3 Lap Record at Phillip Island was broken by Leopard Racing rider, David Almansa. The Spaniard is still searching for his first podium this season and could achieve it this weekend.
Almansa's Leopard Racing teammate, Adrian Fernandez, ended the opening day at the Australian Grand Prix in second place and was 0.392 seconds behind his teammate.
Over half a second behind Almansa was the Red Bull KTM Ajo rider, Alvaro Carpe, who ended the opening day at the Australian Grand Prix in third.
The FRINSA - MT Helmets - MSi rider, Angel Piqueras, is looking to solidify his second place in the Championship and started his weekend at Phillip Island in fourth.
Rounding out the top five was the home hero, Joel Kelso, the Australian rider started his home Grand Prix in fifth for the LEVELUP - MTA squad.
Moto3 rookie, Guido Pini, was just outside the top five but secured a Q2 spot for the Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP squad with a sixth place in Practice.
The 2025 Moto3 World Champion, Jose Antonio Rueda, started his first weekend as Champion in seventh place for the Red Bull KTM Ajo squad.
Moto3 rookie, Maximo Quiles, is in the hunt for second place in the Championship, but an eighth place at Phillip Island will not be enough to challenge Piqueras.
The SIC58 Squadra Corse ended Friday inside the top ten with Italian riders, Luca Lunetta and Stefano Nepa, in ninth and tenth places.
