The opening Moto3 session of the weekend saw Angel Piqueras top the timesheets for the FRINSA - MT Helmets - MSi squad.
Angel Piqueras has not featured on a Moto3 podium since the Spanish Grand Prix earlier this season. However, the Spaniard appeared to be back on form at the Red Bull Ring as he topped Free Practice One.
Two of the Red Bull KTM riders ended the session in second and third place, with Valentin Perrone in second on the Tech3 machine and Alvaro Carpe in third place on the Ajo Motorsport machine.
The FRINSA - MT Helmets - MSi rider of Ryusei Yamanaka ended the morning session in fourth place on the KTM.
The Moto3 World Championship leader, Jose Antonio Rueda, ended the opening session in fifth place for the Red Bull KTM Ajo squad.
Moto3 rookie sensation, Maximo Quiles, started his Friday at the Red Bull Ring in sixth place for the CFMoto Aspar Team.
Behind Quiles was his fellow Moto3 rookie, Guido Pini, who started his day in seventh place on the Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP machine.
After failing to score points in the last three Grands Prix, Taiyo Furusato had a positive start to his weekend with an eighth place in Free Practice One.
Dennis Foggia has seen a rise in form in recent weeks and was inside the top ten once again on Friday morning as he finished in ninth.
Completing the top ten in the opening Moto3 session of the weekend was the Leopard Racing rider of Adrian Fernandez.
