For the second time in the 2025 Moto3 season, David Almansa will start from pole position for the Leopard Racing squad.
David Almansa will start the Moto3 race at the Malaysian Grand Prix from pole position after securing his second pole position for the Leopard Racing squad. The Spaniard has been on a poor run of form during the flyaways and will want to end that this weekend.
Taiyo Furusato has not finished inside the top five since his podium at the Catalan Grand Prix, and after qualifying in second place for the Malaysian Grand Prix, the Japanese rider will be looking to return to the top five or the podium.
The 2025 Moto3 World Champion, Jose Antonio Rueda, appeared to have wrapped up pole position, but in the latter moments of the session was pushed back to third place by Almansa and Furusato.
The Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP duo of Guido Pini and Brian Uriate will start from the second row of the grid. Pini will head the second row of the grid in fourth place, and Brian Uriate will start from the middle of the row in fifth place.
Red Bull KTM Ajo rider, Alvaro Carpe, ended his podium drought last time out at Phillip Island, and after qualifying in sixth place, will be looking to back it up this weekend in Malaysia.
Argentinian rider, Valentin Perrone, will head the third row of the grid as he qualified in seventh place for the Red Bull KTM Tech3 squad, and will want to redeem himself after his 20th-place finish in Australia.
The two riders fighting it out for second in the Championship will start from eighth and ninth places. Moto3 rookie, Maximo Quiles, will start from eighth place for the Aspar Team, and Angel Piqueras will start from ninth place for the MSi squad.
Completing the top ten on the grid was the SIC58 Squadra Corse rider, Luca Lunetta. The Italian will head the fourth row of the grid and will want to continue his run of top ten finishes.
