In a race that saw lengthy delays, Taiyo Furusato secured his maiden Grand Prix victory in dominant style.

In his fourth season in the Moto3 World Championship, Taiyo Furusato secured his first-ever Grand Prix victory as he dominated the 10-lap race around the Petronas Sepang International Circuit.

For the first time since his race win at the Catalan Grand Prix, Angel Piqueras was on the podium as he finished in second place for the FRINSA - MT Helmets - MSi squad, and was 2.259 seconds behind Furusato.

Completing the podium was the Leopard Racing rider, Adrian Fernandez. The Spaniards' last podium came at the San Marino Grand Prix, and his podium at Sepang was his fourth of the season. However, he has since been disqualified due to using a 'non-homologated' electronic map.

David Almansa was in the fight for his first podium in the 2025 Moto3 World Championship, but after being involved in a tough fight, he slipped back to fourth place. However, he has since been promoted to the podium.

After finishing in 22nd place at the Australian Grand Prix last week, Ryusei Yamanaka ended the Malaysian Grand Prix in fourth place for the FRINSA - MT Helmets - MSi squad.

Alvaro Carpe has been able to put his poor run of form behind him as he backed up his podium at Phillip Island with a fifth-place finish in Malaysia for the Red Bull KTM Ajo squad.

Maximo Quiles secured the Moto3 Rookie of the Year title with a sixth-place finish for the CFMoto Aspar Team in the Malaysian Grand Prix.

For the first time since the Dutch TT at Assen, British rider Scott Ogden was inside the top ten as he finished in seventh place for the CIP Green Power squad.

In only his second Grand Prix, Brian Uriate was inside the points as he finished in eighth for the Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP squad. But he was in the fight for the top five before being involved in an incident with Quiles.

Valentin Perrone initially rounded out the top ten in the results, but he has been promoted to ninth place after Fernandez's disqualification.

British rider Eddie O'Shea was inside the points for the second race in a row as the GRYD - MLav Racing rider finished the Malaysian Grand Prix in 14th place.
