The Australian rider Joel Kelso will start from pole position for the second time this season after backing up his pole position from the Australian Grand Prix with a second one in Portugal.

Angel Piqueras is still searching for his first pole position of the season, as the Spaniard was relegated from pole position to third place by Kelso and Ogden.

Maximo Quiles was in provisional pole before the final laps of the session were completed, but a crash for the Spaniard took him out of pole position contention.

Moto3 rookie Guido Pini will start alongside Quiles on the second row of the grid as the Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP rider qualified in fifth place.

Joel Esteban is replacing Jacob Roulstone in the Red Bull KTM Tech3 squad this weekend, and will start the Portuguese Grand Prix from sixth place.

In his third Grand Prix appearance of the 2025 Moto3 season, Casey O'Gorman will start from the head of the third row of the grid in seventh place for the Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP squad.

The Leopard Racing squad completed the third row of the grid with Adrian Fernandez in eighth place, and David Almansa rounding out the row in ninth place.

Completing the top ten on the grid is the Moto3 rookie, Valentin Perrone, who wil start from the head of the fourth row.
