MotoGP Australia: Crutchlow struck down by bronchitis

Monster Yamaha's Cal Crutchlow has been struck down by a bout of bronchitis and a high fever he picked up in Malaysia and says his condition is not looking good for this weekend's Phillip Island MotoGP round.

The Briton saw a doctor when he landed in Melbourne where the bronchitis was diagnosed and then the Isle of Man resident also visted the Clinica Mobile where he was given anti-biotics and an infusion to try and bring down his temperature.

I have bronchitis and a very high fever. I had to have an infusion this morning. I was fine on Monday, no problem and then woke up on Tuesday with a bit of a sore throat. Since then I have got worse and worse, and this morning disaster. I went to see a doctor yesterday and he told me what I have got," said Crutchlow, speaking at Phillip Island.
