MotoGP Germany: Crutchlow bruised but unbowed

Britain's Cal Crutchlow managed to take another front-row start for tomorrow's Sachsenring MotoGP even after taking a beating with two big crashes in yesterday's free practice sessions, causing his arm to swell up.

The Monster Yamaha man says he can't see his left elbow as his arm is so bruised but he is determined to fight on in the race tomorrow and is only concerned about his mental fatigue.

"I will be able to do 30 laps but how fast is the question. I won't physically tire. I bet that I will be stronger than Dani was at the end of the Assen race or Lorenzo, so it won't be a case of physically tired, it will probably be a case of being mentally tired because of everything that has gone on," said Crutchlow, speaking at the Sachsenring.

"If people were to know what went on this morning. I didn't think I was going to be riding but we rode today. I had to try at least and I felt quite good on the bike. It took me some time but I had two massive crashes yesterday. One was my fault and the other one wasn't.

"We stayed too long at the end of pitlane when the flag was out, I had a freezing cold front tyre. It was the circumstances, one person went out so we all went out. I crashed, I'm not blaming anyone and it was one of those things.

"I took some big impacts, probably the biggest I have taken on a MotoGP bike. I have had worse crashes but for some reason when I hit the gravel here I go like a rag doll. I buried my head so hard into the gravel. I wasn't dazed in the second one but I was aware I was hot and my body was burnt.

"I've an abrasion to the arm which isn't deep, just a massive burn and a hole in it. The size of my arm is incredible, it's all bruised and I can't see my elbow. I don't know where that was from as I didn't impact my left arm on the tarmac.

"For sure my leathers came open and my gloves too so I have got gravel rash too. It's really sore. I have a hemotoma on my leg. I feel like shit, really. It's feels ok on the bike. I won't take any painkillers because I want to feel my arm and I want to be able to ride."
