MotoGP Germany: Lorenzo 'won't have engine problems' reckons Stoner

Reigning MotoGP Champion Casey Stoner thinks that title rival Jorge Lorenzo should have no problems with his engine allocation for the rest of 2012 even though the one destroyed in the Assen first-corner melee was almost brand new.

Lorenzo said at the pre-event press conference that having one less engine to use would make life harder as the season goes on: "It's going to be difficult to recover this engine, almost impossible. The rules are the rules. The situation is much more difficult than before Assen but I don't like easy things."

Stoner, on the other hand, said he only used four engines from his six last season and believes Lorenzo shouldn't have anything to worry about.

"You can manage it, it's not a difficult thing. I think everybody is getting the mileage out of them now. Of course, they are going to pretend like it's a big drama but they won't have any problems to finish the season. They will just use older engines during practice and push the limits on those a little more and save the other for race day. Everyone keeps them well within their safety limits, so it's not too difficult to get more mileage out of them," said the forthright Aussie.
