Repsol Honda wunderkind Marc Marquez started MotoGP free practice at Indianapolis so fast yesterday that Cal Crutchlow has already picked him for a win even though the Briton managed to get the gap down to three-tenths of a second.
Marquez himself believes the gap from him to the rest of the pack will close as more time is spent on track as it will clean up and the Yamahas will be able to use their corner speed as more rubber is laid down.
"This morning I feel good from the beginning and we start with the settings from Laguna. Then in the afternoon we try some different setups and working on thinking about the race," said Marquez, speaking at Indianapolis yesterday.
"Everyone was much faster because the grip of the track was much better and I think the distance will be closer every practice because the grip will be better. The limit you can find a little bit easier - there is still time. The condition of the track is changing quite a lot."
