Britain’s Scott Redding is lost and annoyed after another difficult MotoGP qualifying session at Indianapolis as all of the problems he thought he had fixed at the Sachsenring returned for the all-important final timed sessions in America.
Redding was just squeaked out of an automatic qualifying two spot and once again had to go up against riders with a soft-tyre advantage but he had bigger problems as he just wasn’t able to make a fresh tyre work properly, losing grip and front-end feel as track temperatures rose.
“This morning wasn’t too bad but I was struggling a bit on corner entry. We thought that we had been going the right way with setup but, today, everything seems to be doing something, and not in a good way,” said Redding.
“I’ve less front grip, I’m struggling with the rear and I’m a bit lost and more than a little annoyed at this moment. The race pace isn’t too bad but the biggest problem I’ve got at the moment is with the new tyre.”
