Former 500GP world champion Kevin Schwantz tested the Blusens Honda Moto2 bike at Indianapolis yesterday, saying the prototype 600cc racer is agile and fun to ride.
The 1993 series winner, who is 50 years old, turned in a 1'53 laptime on the bike, which was only 14 seconds off Dani Pedrosa's MotoGP pole time set yesterday afternoon.
"I had great fun riding the Honda BQR Moto2 and this has been an honor to test on this circuit the bike is going to be in the new World Motorcycle classy. After first contact with it, I have no doubt that the introduction of this new category will do a great service to the championship and sure to be very competitive and exciting," said Schwantz.
"I felt very comfortable on this bike. It was a very positive experience because it is a very agile bike and fun to ride, with a very powerful engine. I want to thank Blusens BQR team for giving me this opportunity. Although it was not setup to the maximum in terms of suspension and there was some front-end chatter, in a few laps I could see that it has great potential and I've had a great time."
