PBM’s Michael Laverty merged two paths of setup data and took a gamble for the Jerez race and it paid off with the Irishman bagging his first ever MotoGP points and garnering a positive way forward at Le Mans.
Laverty merged the numbers from his one and two bikes, and came up with something that allowed him to enter the faster turns better and now he says he just needs the final half a second to get on terms with the CRT front-runners.
“The setup was a bit if a gamble to be honest but it worked and by the end, we were running the same kind of laptimes as Espargaro and Dovizioso, which is a really positive way forward,” said Laverty, speaking to bikesportnews.com from Jerez.
“The bike was the best it had been all weekend and now we have something to take forward to Le Mans. We didn’t get the electronics upgrade I thought we were going to, but we will use that tomorrow at the test.”
