Bancaja Aprilia's Bradley Smith reckons his win at Jerez has given his team a huge boost and is looking forward to standing on the podium's top step again at the Le Mans MotoGP round this weekend.
The Oxfordshire teenager won the Jerez 125GP by a colossal margin as team-mate Julian Simon crashed out. Le Mans has been good to Smith where he claimed third in 2007 and went one better last year.
"I've really enjoyed the past week reflecting on the win and I think it's going to give us a huge boost for the rest of the season. I've always had good results at Le Mans in the past - I finished third here in 2007, which was my first podium, and in 2008 I was second. I'm sure that it won't be easy but I'll be trying to repeat the result from Jerez," said Smith.
"We need to prepare perfectly from the moment practice starts on Friday to make sure that everything is in place for us to go into battle on Sunday. Le Mans is a fairly straightforward circuit but it's always difficult to squeeze those last couple of tenths out of the bike, which is what makes the difference. But personally I like it because the level of performance between the bikes is very similar and it is up to the rider to make the difference.
