KTM’s factory pairing of Pol Espargaro and Brad Binder have a brand new chassis at the Misano MotoGP test.
Although the Austrian factory have made huge strides forward this year, the RC16 still needs some improvement at tracks that have high grip.
At tracks with low grip, the bike is as good as anything else out there but when there is high grip, like Misano is now after its resurfacing, it doesn’t perform as well.
As we saw on Sunday, KTMs were tenth, 11th and 12th with four-tenths covering them after 27 laps of the Italian track.
Pol Espargaro’s fastest time in free practice three, for example, was 1’32.613 but today he achieved a best of 1’32.054 when he had the new frame in the morning and topped the first session.
