Repsol Honda's Marc Marquez tested next year's RC213V MotoGP bike with the Magneti Marelli spec-ECU hardware he will run next year but found no big difference merely a different feeling.
The team will run their own software within the control hardware and receive a four-litre fuel penalty in 2014 but already Marquez is lapping faster on next year's machinery at Misano.
"There was not a big difference, a different feeling but not a big problem," said Marquez, speaking at Misano about the spec-ECU.
He set the quickest lap of the test, a 1'33.264, using the new bike and says there have been some improvements over the last time he and team-mate Dani Pedrosa rode it at Motorland Aragon.
"It feel quite good, the pace is good. We didn't work a lot, we make two exits of four laps just to give our comments to HRC. I feel good, it have potential.
"They have changed a little bit the weight and here I feel more positive points than negative so that is important. In Aragon, when I tried the bike I didn't like a lot, especially brake points, also entry of the corner but here we improve that aspect but it is important from Aragon to here we made a step."
